Since registering as a Professional Quantity Surveyor in 2013, William intended to enter the exciting and challenging world of Project Management and Property Development. William loves applying himself to the exacting environment and unique challenges presented by each individual Property Development project. William’s focus is on the daily management and planned strategy of the Fortitude Property Group with the assistance of our young and dynamic team of professionals.

  • Experience in large scale Commercial, Retail and Industrial developments throughout Namibia and Southern Africa.
  • BSc Quantity Surveying Honours (UFS), Master’s Degree in Land & Property Development Management (UFS).

Sven combines his love for Property Development, travel and adventure with his experience of African-based projects stemming from the East to West coast of the continent. Together with his Engineering skillset and background (Civil/ Structural), Sven uses his Project Management experience to solve unique and challenging projects scenarios on both local and often remote construction sites. Sven is the engine room of Fortitude working on and guiding multiple projects to completion at any one stage, making him a significant part of the Fortitude driving force.

  • Experience in multi-storey framed Reinforced Concrete Structural Designs including post tensioning, Civil bulk earthworks, storm and waste-water design works for a variety of high rise and large-scale Commercial, Retail & Residential projects from Namibia to Mozambique.
  • BEng Honours -Civil/Structural (University of Stellenbosch).

The primary function of the Registered Quantity Surveyor is to manage all financial aspects of construction projects. This includes preparing detailed cost estimates, cost plans, Bills of Quantities, and schedules of rates for new works, alterations, and maintenance. The role involves issuing valuations and payment certificates, preparing interim and final accounts, and ensuring financial controls are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The Quantity Surveyor will ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements and support the performance management framework to ensure financial performance on allocated projects.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Prepare estimates, cost plans, Bills of Quantifies and schedules of rates for new works, alterations and additions and/or maintenance related scope of works.
  • Complete and issue valuations and payment certificates for identified scope of works.
  • Prepare interim and Final Accounts with contractors, suppliers and consultants with the aim of settling contractual claims and settlement of contracts.
  • Undertake and maintain financial checks and balances with the aim of maintaining financial controls against identified/approved budgets.
  • Carry out regular reviews of schedules of rates to ensure continued relevance and procure information required in the usage of rates on an on-going basis.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on performance of contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers during construction and after contract completion.
  • Check, maintain and implement required compliance with contractual terms and conditions of legal and regulatory requirements within the execution of Identified projects.
  • Support a performance management framework ensuring required/relevant financial performance on allocated projects.
  • Prepare, monitor, manage and report on budgets for all related construction activities including the project close-out phase.
  • Attending, and where necessary, running project meetings relating to the delivery of the financial services offered by the company.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of Professional Practice experience.
